NBA Draft Mailbag Questions
Each week, Shawn Siegel, CHN's NBA Draft
expert answers your questions in the NBA Draft
Mailbag. Siegel receives emails each and every day from fans
trying to find out about their favorite player or favorite team.
The first installment of the 2005 NBA Draft
Mailbag will be out any day. Here's a sample of what you the
fans have been asking in recent weeks:
Dear Shawn,
Do you
think Florida State guard Von Wafer will make the NBA draft and if so
what round will he get picked?
I'm interested in finding out
what Golden State may need and who they might be interested in the NBA
draft 2005. I know that the lottery may determine the pick but what
position do you think should the warriors be
looking for?
Is Andrew
Bogut a legitimate star? I see him being a 15 and 8 guy, nowhere near
the likes of KG, TD, Dirk C-Webb or even Gasol.
Are you
familiar with Jerry Johnson, a great 3 point shooting guard from Rider
University who just participated in the Portsmouth Invitational? He
scored 17 in his first game at the Invitational but I didn't get the
info on his second game there. He is small but extremely quick.
Do you think he has NBA potential or his future in a pro league
overseas?
Where is Sean
May on the mock draft? Surely his stock went up in March.
Thanks for taking my question. I am a big fan of Notre Dame and followed
now NBA player Matt Carroll (Charlotte Bobcats) throughout his college
career. I have also followed his brother, Pat, a senior standout at St.
Joseph's, who is carving a similar path as his big brother through college
turning from a role player in his first three years to the star of the team
in his senior year. Do you think Pat Carroll is a legitimate draft choice
given his last half of the season? Here is a guy who has consistently
ranked as one of the best three point shooters in the country, plays a game
similar to Chris Mullin, and has a lightning quick release and deadly
range. If he makes it into the NBA, do you envision him developing into a
star role player such as John Paxon, Tim Legler, and others who were
specialty players? Thanks again for taking my questions.
Do you think
an age limit in the NBA would help the league and USA basketball in general.
These kids have so many skills high schoolers don't.
With the
success of last years college players (Emeka, Gordon, Deng, Iguodala and
co), do you think it gives a boost to this years crop?
Are NBA GM's
more likely to pick a proven college guy then say an international guy?
What are your
predictions for who will be the top 10 draftees?
I have looked
over numerous mock drafts and each of them they have not included Taylor
Coppenrath as being drafted. Do you think he's a NBA prospect? And
would he play PF or SF?
Do you know
if the Lakers get Miami's 1st rounder this year from the Shaq trade?
Does Ronald
Ross have a legit shot as an undrafted free agent?
Where do you
see Kennedy Winston from Alabama going in the 2005 draft?
As the Golden
State Warriors continue their end-of- season win streak, their position in
the draft drops. What do you think they will do with their selection if it's
the 9th, 10th, or 11th pick?
How does the
senior class of 05' for Georgia Tech look in the draft? (Elder, Luke S,
Isma'il, and maybe Jack a junior)
Please
give me information concerning the placing of Charlotte's Eddie Basden in
the NBA Draft and teams likely to have him.
Where is
Shelden Williams? Behind Sean May who has not declared and Andrew Bogut who
did declare, he was the best PF in college BB this past year. Please show
him some love in the first round. 16 and 11 are stud numbers.
It is my
understanding that Cleveland doesn't have either a first round or a second
round pick due to past trades. Can you confirm that and if they don't, are
they lottery protected?
Just
a simple question, do you think Will Conroy will make it to the league this
year if the Huskies make it to the Final Four?
Why is
Paul Marigney of Saint Mary's College in California not in the mock draft?
He's averaged 24 points and 9 rebounds his last six games.
Thanks,
We The Fans
