2006 NBA DRAFT PROFILE

NBA Draft | NBA Mock Draft | 2006 Draft Profiles | Message Board

NBA Draft: Alexander Johnson

College: Florida State

Class: Junior

Stats: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=15567

Position: PF/C

Height: 6’10”

Weight: 250lbs

Accolades: All-ACC Honorable Mention (2006)

Scouting Report: Unimpressive accomplishments offset by physically impressive body.

Strengths:  Thick, mature body.  Impressive vertical and quickness despite size and weight.  Can play with a lot of physical toughness when he wants to. Not afraid to bang in post, and has a relatively nice jump shot for a power forward.

Weaknesses: Lack of polished offensive post game.  Questions about his desire, weight, and actual size.  Lacks long wingspan, despite nice height.  Has never proven to be an effective shot blocker.  Is already 23.

Projected 2006 Draft Range:  Late First to Mid-Second Round,

Consensus:  Its no secret NBA teams like size, and everyone can use tough, physically mature power forwards.  However, Johnson peaked at 13 points and 7 rebounds per game this past season, despite being a man amongst boys. One has to wonder what he'll really bring to the table against other men his size.
