NBA Position: F/C
Height: 6’11”
Weight: 255lbs
Accolades:
Big East All Rookie Team (03), Big East All Tournament Team (05), NCAA
All Albuquerque Region Team (05)
Scouting Report:
A power forward/center
that prefers to stay behind the 3-point arc. Is a very good 3-point
shooter but doesn’t provide much in the paint at either end of the
floor.
Strengths:
Shooting, specifically 3-point shooting. Almost half of his shot
attempts come from behind the arc. Has improved his rebounding and post
moves this year.
Weaknesses:
Anything you typically rely on an NBA big man to provide. Doesn’t
rebound particularly well (even though he has improved this year).
Doesn’t score well in the post (has gotten a fairly reliable baby hook
shot now though). Doesn’t block a lot of shots or provide strong low
post defense.
Projected 2006 Draft Range:
Mid to late second
round.
Consensus:
After declaring for last year’s draft and then pulling his
name out, Pittsnogle appears to have made an effort to expand his game.
Still, he is depending on his outside shooting touch to get him into the
pros. He still doesn’t possess the interior scoring, defense or
rebounding that would be required of him to have a long NBA career.
