Gifted offensive player who might need a year or two.
Strengths:
Despite size of a power forward, can run the wings and handle like
an off-guard. Has shown a willingness to work and learn, and is
improving his strength and intelligence monthly. Tough to guard on
offense, because he can do a little of everything: shoot, dribble,
drive, pass, and post up. He'd be considered a 5-tool offensive
player.
Weaknesses:
Defense is his biggest shortcoming, and some question his desire to
do the dirty work (screen, box out, etc) when he doesnt have the ball in
his hands. Despite improving strength, isnt really a banger and
his rebounding should be better as well.
Projected 2006 Draft
Range: Late first to early second round.
Consensus:
Another
high risk/reward guy at the end of the 1st round. His ability to
run and handle the ball makes him similar to the Suns' Diaw. Could
play a similar point-forward function on a team that knows how to
utilize his skills. Could be one of this draft's surprise talents.
