Height: 6’3”
Weight: 205lbs
Accolades:
Big East Most
Improved Player (05), All Big-East Third Team (05), USA Men’s Under 21
Team (05).
Scouting Report:
A
lightning quick, pass first point guard with NBA size.
Strengths:
Passing.
Williams has taken advantage of his talented teammates in college and
drops quite a few dimes. Has good size for an NBA point guard. Is a
good rebounder and a great free throw shooter. Great decision maker on
the fast break and a textbook floor general.
Weaknesses:
Not much of a scorer. Shoots for a very low percentage from the field.
Well publicized off court legal problems will have many GMs questioning
his character.
Projected 2006 Draft
Range:
Late first round to early second round pick.
Consensus:
Williams will
have to work on his outside shot to be a great NBA player, or teams will
slack off of him and limit his driving ability. His point guard skills
will translate well into the pro game. How much his legal woes will
hurt his stock is hard to say.
