Scouting Report:
An
athletic, explosive scoring off guard.
Strengths:
Scoring. Has
proven this season that he can be a fairly consistent (sometimes
explosive) scorer. Very athletic – can soar and finish strong at the
rim. Good rebounder for his size. Decent 3-point shooter (sometimes
can explode for lots of threes). Experienced player playing on a
top-notch team in one of the country’s best conferences. Very good free
throw shooter.
Weaknesses:
Not a good passer – turns over the ball as frequently as he racks up
assists. Is on the small side for an NBA off guard (may really be
6’4”). Can be a streaky shooter – but has improved on this in his
senior season.
Projected 2006 Draft
Range:
Late lottery – mid first round pick.
Consensus:
Ager is working
hard to ensure his spot as a mid first round pick this June. He has
proven to be a more consistent scorer this season, but his lack of size
and trigger happy game are detriments for the pro game.
