2006 NBA DRAFT PROFILE

NBA Draft: Mouhamed Saer Sene

Team: Verviers-Pepinster (Belgium)

Birth Year: 1986

Stats: Official Team Stats

Position: C

Height: 7'0"

Weight: 235 lbs

Scouting Report: Raw big man with chance to be impact player.

Strengths: Size is obviously his best attribute, but more impressive than his height is his 7'8" wingspan.  Because of this, and good foot speed, he's already a force on the defensive end despite having such limited experience.  Runs well for big man, and has been improving quickly.

Weaknesses: The fact is that Saer Sene has only been playing basketball for a few years so his skill set is limited.  Doesn't have much of a jumper, post game, ball-handling skills or passing abilities.  Further, he needs to add more weight and upper body strength to bang with other NBA big men.

Projected 2006 Draft Range: Late first round.

Consensus:  When Dasagana Diop is the starting center for the Western Conference champions, you know the center position is lacking.  Like Diop, Saer Sene will come into the league young and raw, but unlike Diop, he shows greater potential to be a true offensive weapon in the paint.
