Position: PG/SG
Height: 6”3”
Weight: 175 lbs
Accolades:
All-Met (Metro
New York-New Jersey area) Division 1 Player of the Year (06), First Team
All-Big East (06), AP Honorable Mention All-American (06), District II
Player of the Year (USBWA) (06), Collegehoopsnet.com Fourth Team
All-American (06).
Scouting Report:
BIG time scoring guard capable of playing the point or the off
guard spot.
Strengths:
Scoring – Douby averaged an amazing 25.4ppg this season despite the fact
that his team plays in the highly competitive Big East conference (he
averaged 27ppg in Big East play). Great three point shooter – shot over
40% from behind the arc his junior year. Also a very good free throw
shooter and has an extremely high field goal percentage (46.2%) for a
guard. Able to penetrate and get by his man – he is a good dribbler.
Good rebounder for his size. Quick hands allows him to grab a few
steals.
Weaknesses:
Very thin frame
will take a banging in the NBA. Is more comfortable playing the
shooting guard position, but his height and frame will hinder him at
this position in the pros. Not a big time athlete (by NBA standards).
Projected 2006 Draft
Range: Mid
first round to early second round pick.
Consensus:
Douby definitely
has the offensive game to make himself a solid NBA pro. However his
body needs work along with his point guard skills before he really
excels in the League.
