NBA Draft: Rashad Anderson

College: Connecticut

Class: Senior

Stats: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=11221

Position: SG

Height: 6’5”

Weight: 215lbs

Accolades: NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team (04), Phoenix Regional All-Tournament Team (04), NABC All-District Second Team (05), All-Big East Honorable Mention Team (06).

Scouting Report: A scoring 3-point bomber with loads of experience

Strengths: Long range shooting.  Anderson averaged over 2 three pointers made per game throughout his career, shooting at a 39% clip.  He also is a quick scorer – this season he averaged 12.8ppg in only 22 minutes of action per game.  Rashad is a very experienced player, playing four years of big games for Connecticut.

Weaknesses: Doesn’t possess any other exceptional skills other than scoring and shooting threes.  Is not very athletic.  Doesn’t have great size or height.  Would have trouble playing the wing in the NBA due to his size.  Hasn’t played real big minutes ever in college – he only averaged 21 minutes per game over his career.

Projected 2006 Draft Range: Late second round – undrafted.

Consensus:  Rashad may get picked late in the draft, but the odds of him not getting selected are just as good.  He is a good three point shooter but there are better in the draft.  His one dimensional game and lack of size don’t translate well to the NBA.
