Position: PG/SG
Height: 6’7”
Weight: 217lbs
Accolades:
SEC All-Freshman
Team (04), Arkansas Team MVP (04), First Team All-SEC (05), Arkansas
Team MVP (05).
Scouting Report:
A point guard in a shooting guard’s body.
Strengths:
Great passer and
has excellent court vision. Good slasher. Has been a good scorer every
year in college. Great defense – gets a crazy amount of steals (not
uncommon for him to get 5 or more in a game). Is a stat sheet stuffer –
points, rebounds, assists, steals.
Weaknesses:
Shooting percentages dropped his junior year. Has an unorthodox
shooting technique due to a childhood injury. Assist to turnover ratio
isn’t where you would like it for a point guard.
Projected 2006 Draft
Range: Top
10 pick.
Consensus:
Brewer’s all
around game and great size for a point guard makes him a lottery pick.
Whether he can improve his shooting touch (despite his physical
limitations due to his injury) is unknown, but his court vision and
excellent hands (on both ends of the floor) should allow him to be a
good NBA pro.
