Team:
Estudiantes Club Madrid
Class: 1986
Stats:
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=22441
Position: PG
Height: 6”3”
Weight: 180 lbs
Scouting Report:
Quick passing wizard with a lot of upside.
Strengths:
Great vision and passing abilities. Has more of a West Coast, run
and pass mentality. Good height for a point guard. For a kid
who is only 19, shows solid leadership abilities running a team and is
not afraid to be the center of attention.
Weaknesses:
Not every NBA coach can tolerate his liberating Brazilian-soccer
like decisions. Lacks size and physical strength to defend quality
guards, or to finish inside. Lacks consistency in his jumper, so
may be a liability in the half-court offense right now.
Projected 2006 Draft
Range:
Mid-first round to mid-second round pick.
Consensus:
This is a high
risk/reward player. He has natural gifts that cannot be taught, but
lacks physical strength, an outside shot, and is not ready to defend
yet. Rodriguez could develop into one of the best 10 to 15 players
to come out of this draft, or he could be a complete bust. I'll go
with the former.
