Position: SF/PF
Height: 6’10”
Weight: 220lbs
Accolades:
Conference USA
All-Freshman Team (03), Conference USA Sixth Man of the Year (03), NCAA
Midwest Regional All-Tournament Team (03).
Scouting Report:
A big man
with a great 3-point touch. Capable of explosive scoring outbursts.
Strengths:
Shooting. Novak
is a great 3-point shooter, with most of his points coming from behind
the arc. Uses his height and quick release to get his shot off over
defenders. He can get quite hot, as he was in his 41 point, 16 board
game versus Connecticut in his senior year. Also is an unbelievably
accurate free throw shooter. Decent rebounder for a 3 man.
Weaknesses:
Athleticism – Novak isn’t very quick or a great leaper. Will struggler
guarding perimeter players in the NBA.
Projected 2006 Draft
Range: Mid
second round – undrafted.
Consensus:
Novak’s solid
senior season should get his name called in this summer’s draft. His
shooting ability and great size will be his calling card. However, his
lack of bulk and athleticism could limit him to a spot up shooting role.
