2008 NBA Draft: Statistical Projections

Will Rose & Beasley dominate from day one? Is Russell Westbrook really worth a top 10 pick? How long will it take Danilo Gallinari to develop?  Each year I project NBA statistics for the top 40 prospects in the NBA Draft.  Keep in mind, 1st and 2nd year projections are highly sensitive to which team the player ends up on, and the projections will be updated following the night of the Draft.

The "Max Potential" is a projection of the type of season this player could be expected to have in the best year of his prime. "%" indicates the relative odds that the player will reach their max potential.  "Bold" indicates the top 3 in each statistical category for players in this draft.

See how my projections for last year's 2007 Draft picks fared as well as the archived 2006, 2005, 2004 & 2003 Statistical Projections.

Quick Thoughts: Note that, for example, Jerryd Bayless' max stats look better than Derrick Rose, but that Rose seems like a lock to reach his plateau.. while Bayless has a much greater bust potential.
