NBA Draft Player Profile: Sean Finn
by
Dale Money
Averaging 13.2 points, 7.1 board's, and a very solid .667 FT%.
The 7"0 senior center is
looking to shatter Dayton's career FG% and blocked shot records.
Finn needed only 25 blocks to pass Roosevelt Chapman's record of 125,
and has
had two of the top three single season marks since becoming a starter.
As a junior, Finn averaged 10.0 points and 5.3 rebounds, and shot a
school-record .707 (128-181) from the field. He is just one of three
seven footers ever to play for Dayton, and has in fact grown while there, coming to the school a
little bit under
6"11.
The 240 lb native of Hayes Kansas had his best game, banking 27
points,
grabbing 10 boards, and hitting a near perfect 12 of 13 from the field
in a 78-65
home win over Prairie View A&M. Finn also started all five of Dayton's 2001 Australian
Summer Tour games, averaging 10.4 points per game and shooting .786 (22-28)
from the field.
The Flyers center also helped his team make an Atlantic
10 championship run, getting the first double-double of his college
career with a
career-high 20 points and a season-high 11 rebounds in the finals
against Temple.
Finn is currently ranked number 2 on the Flyers in total rebounds, and
third in
scoring for the season.
