SIU Falls to Western Michigan

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Southern Illinois slipped even deeper into the scoring funk that has strangled the team's offense and led to five losses in the past six games. Western Michigan was the benefactor of SIU's offensive misery this time, winning, 57-41, Tuesday night and holding the Salukis to their lowest point total in 21 years.
SIU Blows Lead in Saint Louis

ST. LOUIS - In a stunning turnaround, Southern Illinois went scoreless in the final four minutes of the game, allowing Saint Louis to turn an eight-point deficit into a five-point victory, 56-51, Saturday at the Scottrade Center.
The Salukis (4-4) seemed to have the game under control when Matt Shaw hit a 3-pointer with 4:17 left in the contest to put Southern ahead, 51-43. Little did SIU know it would not score again, missing its last five shots and turning the ball over four times.

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois made some amazing discoveries in its 71-56 win over #24-ranked Saint Mary's Tuesday night.
First, it re-discovered its offense, which had gone AWOL during a three-game losing streak. Second, it found a player who could deliver buckets during crunch time of a close game -- junior point guard Bryan Mullins.
Mullins had never scored more than 16 points in a game, yet he delivered 24 on the night, including 11 points in the decisive final four minutes.
