Yesterday, in a game where oddsmakers tabbed the hometown Duke Blue Devils as twenty-plus point favorites, Rhode Island led fifth ranked Duke for thirty-seven of forty minutes before falling at Cameron Indoor Stadium - their fate not sealed until a desperation heave by Jimmy Baron missed wide right.

“The last five minutes, I thought we did everything right,” Krzyzewski remarked.  “They didn’t do anything wrong, they just missed a couple of shots.”

SIU Tops UMASS in Quality Early Season Battle

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Despite opening up a 15-point first half lead, the UMass men's basketball team couldn't hold off a charging Southern Illinois Salukis squad, which used a late 12-0 run to turn a two-point deficit into a 10-point advantage on its way to an 80-73 win on Wednesday night. With the loss, the Minutemen have been eliminated from the 2K Sports Classic, falling one win shy of a return trip to Madison Square Garden where last season's memorable NIT run culminated.

Aaric Murray, Top 30 Prospect, Signs With La Salle

La SallePhiladelphia, PA- La Salle University men's basketball coach Dr. John Giannini has received a National Letter of Intent from 6''10 center Aaric Murray.

Murray is in his senior season at The Glen Mills School where he averaged 19 points and 11 rebounds a season ago.

Murray is ranked among the nation's Top 40 basketball recruits by all of the recognized scouting services and is considered the 19th top prospect in America by HoopScoop.
