Daily Dribble: High-Major Power Ranking

January 4th, 2008
DaytonFollowing yesterday's Mid-Major Top 50, I'm back with a complete 66-team ranking of the “High-Majors”. This includes the A10, CAA, CUSA, MVC, MWC, and WAC.  I’m not suggesting that the A10 might not be better than the Big Ten this year, or that a league like the Horizon isn’t better than the WAC (which is real bad right now), or anything like that.. I use these grouping year to year simply for ease and consistency.

Mid-Season All-America Teams

January 3rd, 2008

Although the college basketball season is only a couple of months old, the start of the new year is a great time to reflect on which stars shined the brightest in 2007. Many of the names below are familiar to even a casual fan, while a few of the names are only known to the sport's most passionate followers. I present to you the best of 2007 (by position):

Game Coverage: Wright State Holds Off Saint Bonaventure

December 19th, 2007

DAYTON – Coming off a big buzzer-beater win against Miami and playing during the holidays in front of a small crowd the Wright State Raiders were prime targets to be upset at home by St. Bonaventure. With the Bonnies playing tough half-court defense the Raiders were able to avoid being upset at home by playing their own tough defense and making some timely shots to defeat St. Bonaventure 54-45.

Whenever Wright State (5-3) looked like they were going to blow the game wide open the Bonnies would whittle the score down to a one or two possession game.
