Big 12The 2006-07 season stands to be exciting and unpredictable for the Big 12. Kansas tops the heap and has legitimate title hopes. Texas A&M will probably be ranked in the top 10 to begin the season, and Texas hasn’t wasted any time reloading after the premature departures of LaMarcus Aldridge and P.J. Tucker. And to top it all off, the Big 12 this year will showcase more new head coaches than any other conference.

The Missouri General Assembly considered a bill during its 2006 regular session that would have required all NCAA Division I schools in the state to play all other NCAA Division I school in all sports in which they field teams.  The bill, which was sponsored by Rep. In this month's updated Preseason Top 40, we have the added bonus of knowing who left (Cedric Simmons, Kyle Lowry, etc) and who stayed in school (Joakim Noah, Glen Davis, etc). The only team to completely drop out of the Top 40 is NC State, replaced by #37 Michigan.
