Kansas point guard Sherron CollinsThe "Octagon of Doom" offered up a charged atmosphere on Saturday night, a given when the rival Kansas Jayhawks are in the building. And the game didn't disappoint either, requiring an extra five minutes and a great play from Sherron Collins to determine the winner. With the 81-79 win the Jayhawks assume total control of the Big 12 race and stand a good chance of taking over the top spot in the national polls come Monday.

Kentucky wins 2,000th Game

There wasn't much suspense in the game between Kentucky and Drexel at Rupp Arena but the end result was important nonetheless. The Wildcats took care of the Dragons 88-44, picking up the program's 2,000th victory as a result. DeMarcus Cousins and Patrick Patterson scored eighteen points apiece in the pasting which also moved the third-ranked team in America to 12-0 on the season.

College Basketball: Preseason Mid-Major All-Americans

November 12th, 2009's Preseason Mid-Major All-America Team is led by one of the few underclassmen on the list, Butler's Gordon Hayward. Hayward is joined on the First Team by teammate Matt Howard. Boston U, Butler, Cornell, Gonzaga are the only teams with multiple players.
