30 of the nation's top collegiate basketball players have accepted invitations to participate in the July 12-14 USA Basketball Men's Pan American Games Team Trials that will be held at Haverford College (Pa.). The Trials will be used to select the finalists for the USA Basketball Pan American Games squad that will look to capture gold at the 2007 Pan American Games that are being held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, July 13-29. Athlete selections for the Trials were made by the USA Basketball Men's Collegiate Committee, chaired by Syracuse University head coach Jim Boeheim.
OMAHA, NE - Point guard Isacc Miles has been granted his release to
transfer from Creighton. The Kansas City, Mo., native averaged 6.1 points per game last season along with 2.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists. Miles was a member of the MVC's All-Freshman team and projected to be an important contributor for the Bluejays. Coming out of high school, Miles was a highly sought after recruit who garnered interest from many top BCS programs.
CARBONDALE, Ill. - Former Saluki guard Jamaal Tatum has been invited to participate in the NBA Draft Camp that takes place in Orlando from May 29 to June 4.
The camp is reserved for elite NBA prospects, the majority of which are likely to be picked during the league's annual two-round draft that takes place on June 28.
"We're extremely happy for Jamaal," Southern Illinois University head coach Chris Lowery said. "This is a prestigious camp and the next big step in his pro basketball career. It has to be tremendous boost for his confidence to receive this invitation."
ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis head men’s basketball coach Rick Majerus today announced that Porter Moser will join the Billiken men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach. The former Creighton guard was the head coach at Illinois State from 2003-04 to 2006-07 after a three-year stint as the head coach at Arkansas-Little Rock.
Cedar Falls, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa men’s basketball team has signed three guards for next season, UNI head coach Ben Jacobson announced today. Joining the Panthers for the 2007-08 campaign are 6-1 point guard Matt Culliver (Omaha, Neb./Iowa Western Community College), 6-4 shooting guard Jonathan Montgomery (Chicago, Ill./Lincoln Park High School), and 6-2 point guard Drew Lundberg (Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna High School).

OMAHA, Neb. -- Dana Altman, the all-time winningest coach in Creighton basketball history, has accepted the head men¹s basketball coaching job at the University of Arkansas. Altman was introduced at a 5 pm press conference in Fayetteville, Ark., today at Bud Walton Arena.
OMAHA, Neb. -- Longtime Creighton men's basketball assistant coach Kevin McKenna has been hired as the head men's basketball coach at Indiana State University. McKenna, who is in the CU Athletics Hall of Fame for his play from 1977-81, returned to his alma mater to serve as an assistant coach from 1994-2001 and then again from 2005-07.
McKenna replaces Royce Waltman, who did not have his contract renewed after this month¹s Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.
