Familiar Foes: In addition to meeting in the 2009 NCAA Championship Game and last year's ACC/Big Ten Challenge, Michigan State and North Carolina played in the first two Challenges (1999 and 2000) with the Spartans winning both games. North Carolina won both games last year.

First-Ever Meeting: Minnesota and Miami will square off in the first meeting between the two programs.

2009 Final FourFive Big East teams made their way into the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament, and so far five remain. A trio of teams from the nation’s best conference won tonight, guaranteeing the conference of at least one Final Four team as a retirement present for commissioner Mike Tranghese. The dominant question: how would Connecticut deal with the off-court distractions in facing Purdue? Point blank, the outside issues didn’t matter, with the Huskies controlling the game from start to finish in a 72-60 victory.

We’re finally here – the last weekend of the regular season. Some teams have led up to this by playing their way onto the bubble (Penn State, Oklahoma State), others have tried their best to burst their own bubble (Kentucky, Florida).
