Recent history led many to believe that Friday would supply the crazy happenings that college basketball fans look for every March. It began with a Byron Eaton three-point play with seven seconds remaining to advance Oklahoma State and ended with Siena’s Ronald Moore knocking down a three to knock off Ohio State. But neither of those matched the magnitude of thirteen-seed Cleveland State dominating Wake Forest from start to finish in the final game from Miami.

INDIANAPOLIS - You could say the third time is the charm, since it took three tries this year for Cleveland State to finally beat Butler, but that would understate how hard the Vikings worked to get the 67-64 win in the Horizon League Championship game.

Cleveland State had to win four games to clinch the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament against a well-rested No. 1 seed Butler, who benefited from the double bye, which meant they just had to win two games.

INDIANAPOLIS --  Twenty minutes after the game and Wright State coach Brad Brownell was still seething as he took questions about his team's 62-57 loss to the 22^nd ranked team in the latest AP Poll.

Wright State had scored 22 field goals to Butler's 17 field goals, out-shot Butler from beyond the arc by making eight 3-pointers to four for Butler and committed just eight turnovers to Butler's 10 turnovers.

The Raiders held all five of Butler's starters to under 50 percent shooting.

INDIANAPOLIS - Tonight the Horizon League played the quarterfinal games at number one seed Butler University. The 6 p.m. game featured Wright State playing Milwaukee and the 8 p.m. game featured UIC and Cleveland State. In both games the higher seed prevailed. Wright State beat Milwaukee 80-70 and Cleveland State beat UIC 67-64.
