The first full day of action in the NCAA tournament didn't produce the number of surprises that many fans both expected and wanted, with just two lower-seeded teams advancing to Saturday's action. While one should come as no surprise to the country the other finds itself carrying the banner for an entire conference...in its first season in the league. Here are the key happenings by location, highlighted by wins for Colorado (Albuquerque) and VCU (Portland).

Recently CHN writer Jon Teitel was able to catch up with Colorado guard Carlon Brown, who helped lead the Buffaloes to the Pac-12 tournament title last weekend and was named tournament MVP. Next up for the Buffaloes is a matchup with six-seed UNLV in a South Region matchup. 

But before you read you probably should watch this. 

Cincinnati and Louisville advance to the Big East final, marking the first time that no original members will be in the game.

While bubble teams were able to breathe easier when Murray St and Creighton won close conference titles, the coast is not entirely clear.

Florida State's Ian Miller knocked down a three-pointer with eight tenths of a second remaining to give the Seminoles a 63-60 win at Virginia, who will finish the regular season without a win over any of the top three teams in the ACC.
