GameNight: Pittsburgh at Florida State

Editor's Early Preview (12/15):

No, that is not a misprint.. Pittsburgh is actually playing a road game. Crazy concept. The undefeated Panthers head to FSU to face a Seminoles squad that gets little respect despite a gaudy record.  Pitt hasn't even been tested this season, 13 points (against Texas Tech) is their closest margin of victory. I can't imagine FSU pulling off the upset here unless Toney Douglas has a career night.

GameNight: Pittsburgh vs Siena

Dec 17 2008 - 9:30pm

Editor's Early Preview (12/15):

Siena was supposed to be one of this season's darling mid-majors, but a disastrous showing in Orlando ruined any Top 25 chances. Now, barring a miracle, they'll just be another easy win for a Pitt team that rarely is challenged at home.

College Football: Saturday Touchdowns

November 23rd, 2008
Arizona

Heading into this Saturday it seemed like the Notre Dame Fighting Irish were well on their way to a seventh victory and a berth in either the Gator or Sun Bowl. All they had to do was beat Syracuse, playing for a recently dismissed head coach in Greg Robinson and dead last in the Big East. But while the Orange haven't played particularly well this season, you can't accuse this team of quitting. What ensued was one of the more stunning results of the day, with Syracuse stunning the Irish 24-23 on a late touchdown pass. Where do the Irish go from here?

Big East Coach Ranking: Sweet Sixteen

November 20th, 2008
Big East

The 2008-09 Big East season should bring as much excitement as any.  Commonly regarded as the toughest conference in college basketball, it has the potential to put 9+ teams into the NCAA tournament come March.

At the backbone of a great team comes a great coach, and the Big East has plenty of great coaches.  But which coaches are the best?  Let's just say that a well-padded résumé is not enough to give a coach top honors in this conference.

College Basketball: Best Seniors

Tyler Hansbrough

The talented senior; it’s become an endangered species in college basketball with the top underclassmen leaving each year for NBA riches. This year’s group however is loaded with future NBA players in the frontcourt and the backcourt. These players will be expected to lead their teams deep into March and will be ready to make an immediate impact on the pro level next fall.

College Basketball: Best Frontcourts

A solid frontcourt is a must-have component of a national championship team. Good rebounding gives a team second and third chances to score on offense and eliminates those chances on defense. Shot blocking can take the wind out of the opponents sail. Versatility is a must as is the ability to the run the floor. Scoring inside the paint adds another dimension when the shooters go cold.  To sum it up, the men down low and on the wing are huge difference makers for their team, offensively and defensively.
