2007 NCAA Tournamet: All-Sweet Sixteen Team

March 25th, 2007
Ohio St

Best Performance: Tajuan Porter, Oregon

Make all the short jokes you want. Call him things like “diminutive” or “pint-sized” and write stories implying his 5 foot 6 inch, 160 pound (if that) frame is somehow a huge disadvantage.

Just don’t say it to UNLV.

2007 NCAA Tournament: All-Second Round Team

March 19th, 2007
Ohio St

Best Performance: Ron Lewis, Ohio State

In the best game of the Tournament so far, there were plenty of great performances to choose from, particularly from two Buckeyes who willed their team to an improbable victory. Neither of them was named Greg Oden.

Not that Oden, who ended up with his umpteenth double-double, had an off night. But after fouling out with his team down nine and less than three minutes to play, it was up to Oden’s teammates to step it up and save their season. You probably know the rest.

- A lot of talk the first two days about the lack of upsets and the lack of excitement.. but I think today's 3 overtime games more than made up for it.

- Mike Conley's 11 points might have owned overtime, but Ron Lewis owned the game. When things broke down for Ohio State, he pretty much got them to overtime by himself.

NBA general managers don’t see college superstars the way most people do. GM’s see them as potential soul mates. Or, more aptly, potential soul team-mates.
