Northern Iowa Basketball Schedule: 2008-09
Six teams that qualified for postseason play last season highlight the 2008-09 University of Northern Iowa mens basketball schedule, the athletic department announced today. The Panthers will play at least 11 games against teams that made 2008 postseason play, with nearly half of them at the McLeod Center.

Cedar Falls, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa men’s basketball team has signed three guards for next season, UNI head coach Ben Jacobson announced today. Joining the Panthers for the 2007-08 campaign are 6-1 point guard Matt Culliver (Omaha, Neb./Iowa Western Community College), 6-4 shooting guard Jonathan Montgomery (Chicago, Ill./Lincoln Park High School), and 6-2 point guard Drew Lundberg (Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna High School).

MVC Weekly Notebook: Week 14
As we enter the final week of the Valley regular season, Southern Illinois controls their own destiny. The Salukis currently sit one game ahead of second place Creighton and if they can beat Indiana State and Evansville this week, which they likely will, SIU will be this year’s Missouri Valley Conference Champions. The Bluejays still have a shot at the title but need SIU to lose twice while they win their final two games. The Jays will likely have to settle for second place but they’ll join the Salukis in the NCAA Tournament as both look to be “locks” at this point.
