Status quo in the Big Ten, as Drew Neitzel is the only person on the All-December team that didn’t make the All-November team.

Senior Neitzel’s scoring is down this year, but he is doing something far more important to the team’s success – taking care of the ball. He has a very solid 4.29 assists to turnover ratio, and in the month of December dished out 32 dimes and only turned the ball over eight times.

 

Like the case across most of the BCS conferences, a freshman is leading the way in the Big 10.  The old dogs are doing ok also, as two seniors make this early season list.

 

For the second year, ESPN and the MAAC will put on the Old Spice Classic at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando. Last season’s tournament, won by Arkansas, was a competitive event that featured five teams who eventually played in the postseason. Will this year’s group of eight yield the same success? The answer to that question won’t be known until March, but this year’s field does have something that last year’s didn’t: one of the nation’s best freshmen. His name: Michael Beasley of Kansas State. But to focus solely on Beasley would be unfair
