Which of Monday's calls was worse?
Alright, the following two days have brought a litany of opinions concerning the end of game calls in the Villanova/Georgetown and Rutgers/Tennessee contests. But is it really cut and dry when it comes to determining which was the worse of the two? I say no, with some of the circumstances surrounding the games (and the plays themselves) needing to be considered before rendering a decisions. Here's my attempt (I assume you've seen the video of both plays, so I won't go into too much detail in describing them).

NYC Metro Ranking & Report: New Teams Added
After last week’s
article I received an email from a Rutgers fan who wanted to know why his
Scarlet Knights weren’t in the poll. Fair enough, but we’ll just ignore the fact
that my inbox was empty with these requests when RU was 0-6 in Big East play. A
home win over then-#18 Villanova will do that to people, and rightfully so. But
to be fair, Rutgers is not the only team added. Say hello to Monmouth, Princeton
and Rider, which rounds this list out at twenty-three teams. I hope that’s all,

My "bug", and other college football items
There's been some talk on this site about "the bug"...the feeling that college basketball is just around the corner. Well, even though I love college hoops (if I didn't then why am I here?), I'd like to get this fact off of my chest:

Big East Report Card: Bottom Half
With only two Big East teams
still alive in the post-season, it’s time to give each program a final grade for
the 2006-2007 season.
Grades are based primarily on each team’s record/performance during the season,
with secondary consideration given to how its performance related to pre-season
expectations. The Report Card is divided into two parts, the bottom half of the
teams (up today), and the top half (up tomorrow).
Daily Dribble: 1/04
Lots of good tv action last night.. and I'm not talking about UNC's 38 point win over Penn. I like watching Brandan Wright dunk and all.. but this team has gone a month without playing a decent team.. lets get some competition before these games get televised.
The last team to beat UNC was.. Gonzaga, who got spanked at Virginia last night. The 108-87 final score isn't as bad as this game was.. it was 60-26 at half. Sean Singletary had 37 points on 7 threes, and 5 of those threes were in about the first 8 minutes of play. This game was done early. The Zags have lost 4 straight, 5 of 6, and are now 9-6. At least conference play starts, and the brutal string of non-conference foes ends. The last 7 games include Duke, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Washington State, Nevada, and Georgia.. and only one of those games was in Spokane.
