Connecticut, Duke and now Syracuse have all had the Spartans' number, with the Orange beating Michigan State 72-58 in the second game of the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden. Rick Jackson posted yet another double-double, this time scoring 17 points and grabbing 16 rebounds while Scoop Jardine led all scorers with 19.

WCC All-Conference Team: Bryant is POY

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- Santa Clara senior center John Bryant turned in one of the most dominating seasons in the last 30 years in WCC history and was rewarded on Monday by being named the Conference Player of the Year in a vote by the league's head coaches. Saint Mary's senior forward Diamon Simpson joined Bryant among the yearly conference award recipients, taking home his second consecutive Defensive Player of the Year honor.

1 - Everyone knows the Big East is loaded. This is most unfortunate for Rutgers who will have a hard time winning more than a game or two in league play.
