Dear ESPN: Please Just Show The Game

Things you will never hear a man say: (1) I'd love to watch Thelma & Louise again. (2) Mmmm... Tofu. (3) Her breasts are way too big.  And (4) I can't take another minute of ESPN.

I must sadly admit that as of this past Tuesday the one about ESPN no longer applies to me.

Hoops on TVWe’re a little over one month from Selection Sunday, and if the season so far is any indication, we’re in for a great tournament. We’ve seen Wake Forest knock off ACC favorites Duke and North Carolina, then get blasted by Miami. We’ve seen a red-hot Louisville team get undressed at home by UConn. We’ve seen Notre Dame and Georgetown fall apart to the point where they may be making NIT plans. We’ve watched Michigan knock off UCLA and Duke, then struggle to reach .500 in their own conference.

BracketBusters: TV Games

ButlerBRISTOL, Conn. -- ESPNU will televise six BracketBusters games, while ESPN360.com, ESPN's customized broadband service, will offer one. ESPN2 will televise five contests and ESPN will have one game. ESPN360.com will also simulcast the ESPN and ESPN2 telecasts. The match-ups are highlighted by #11 Butler against Davidson, both undefeated in conference play, and #22 Utah State against Saint Mary's, a 2008 NCAA Tournament participant that has been among the nation's top 25 teams this season as recently as last week.

No Tebow, no Bradford, no Polamalu, no Fitzgerald – none of them. But don’t worry- there’s still plenty of reasons to spend the weekend on the couch…like some monster in-conference match-ups in the Big East and an in-state clash in Rocky Top. As I’m writing this, it is currently three degrees outside, with the high for today climbing to around 14.. The high for tomorrow is supposed to be 24 degrees. Needless to say, it’s a perfect weekend to spend indoors watching some hoops. This weekend is loaded with quality games, as the Pac-10, Big East and ACC all have some huge in-conference match-ups.
