INTRO: Now that I've rolled out the last of the Rise & Fall articles, its time to move onto something bigger & better (or at least slightly different).. a state by state ranking of D1 men's basketball programs.

We'll be rolling out our annual 144 Teams in 144 Days preview in just a couple weeks.. so it seemed like a good time to throw out my offseason Top 50 picks. With Draft entries settled, we have a clearer look at what is already shaping up to be another wild and exciting season of college basketball!

The Collegehoops.net Top 50 Power Ranking is the premier ordering of the national college basketball scene.  Is the Top 50 Better than the AP or the Coaches Polls? Perhaps.. but at the very least, we don't have an agenda like the coaches do and we go deeper into the country than most power-conference biased media members.
