Daily Dribble: All-Freshman Thoughts

CHN released its official Preseason Mid-Major All-America team yesterday.  As I've been doing for all the awards, here are my personal views on our selections. All CHN awards are voted on by staff writers.

 

Preseason All-Freshman Team: 2008-09

CollegeHoops.net's Preseason All-Freshman Team is led by a pair of unanimous selections: UCLA's Jrue Holiday and Ohio State's BJ Mullens. Holiday, a West Coast point guard and Mullens, a Mid-West big man come from the opposite ends of the college basketball spectrum.

Freshman 10: Final Regular Season Edition

Arizona This here is the last regular edition of the Freshman 10, with end-of-year awards and tournament editions all that’s left to follow. I really wish I had something profound and interesting to say this time around but I don’t. And I think that’s kinda fitting for this time of the college hoops season. Earlier in the year we had to create things to talk about in order to justify paying attention to hoops over football and other stuff. Freshman 10: Kevin Love Surpasses Michael Beasley

I should start this off by saying I am a New York Giants fan. As a result, the last few days have been pretty incredible. The Super Bowl win knocked Syracuse’s 2003 NCAA title off the top of the best sports moments of my life. For any fan, it’s fun to see upsets like that but you can’t really anticipate what it feels like when your team is on the good end of the upset (and I imagine the same is true of the opposite). And the reason I bring this up on a basketball Web site is because a game like this
