Bracketology: Tennessee In, VCU and 11 Seed, Drexel Out

2012 Final FourBracketology projections will be coming fast and furious this week. Tennessee enters the field for the first time all season, replacing Arizona, who choked in a loss to Arizona State. UCONN also returns, replacing South Florida. South Florida still has a strong chance to return, while Arizona has been replaced by Oregon as the Pac-12's third most likely team.

NCAA Tournament: Odds of a Seed Advancing

This chart shows how each seed has fared over the six rounds of each tournament since 1985 (the start of the 64/68 team tournament). For Example the #1 Seeds have won 100% of their first round games, but #2 have only won 95.7% of the time. The #1 Seeds have made it to the finals 14.1% of the time, but note #4 seeds have only made it 1.1% of the time.

 

Selection Sunday: 2012 NCAA Tournament

Selection Sunday 2012 is on March 11th. CBS will announced the 68-team field (the 2nd year of the new format) beginning at 6 PM. This follows the completion of the Big Ten Championship, which is the last game before the Field is announced.
