Edward N. Matisik, Esq., is a
native of Johnstown, Pa., where he grew up following the St. Francis
University Red Flash. He graduated from Boston University in 1984 with
a degree in business before completing both a master's degree in arts
management and a law degree at American University. He has also
attended medical school at George Washington University and did his
pre-medicine work at the University of the District of Columbia. He has
also studied theater management at Columbia College of Chicago.
Mr. Matisik worked for the
John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. for
over 12 years, managing fundraising programs aimed at individual
donors. After graduating from law school at American U., he opened his
own law practice specializing in the areas of the law of nonprofit
organizations and educational institutions. He writes a monthly
newsletter on college and university law and has published two books on
Pennsylvania education law and the Americans with Disabilities Act. He
is currently at work on his first novel.
Mr. Matisik grew up playing
table-top sports games and eventually worked for a number of companies
doing statistical analysis of college and professional sports. Those
persons who have played Sports Illustrated College Basketball, Statis-Pro
College Basketball, and Negamco College Basketball are familiar with his
work.
He is a devoted fan of the
American University Eagles and the Boston University Terriers. He
eagerly awaits the day that the AU men's basketball team finally makes
the NCAA Tournament.
