Purdue's Martin to Transfer

Purdue freshman forward Scott Martin has announced that he is leaving the Boilermakers' program and transferring. "I truly valued my time here at Purdue," Martin said in a statement. "I made many great friendships and met a lot of great people. I am thankful to the coaching staff and my teammates for the opportunity they have given me. I feel it is my best interest to take a different route for my basketball career." Head coach Matt Painter supported Martin's decision. "We'll help him any way we can, and wish him and his family nothing but the best in the future," he said. Martin started eight games this past season, averaging 8.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.
