2009 Final Four

2009 Final Four

The Bracketology field is based on how the tourney looks "as of this moment." Arrows indicate the amount of seeds a team moved since the last update. (Just because a team won or lost doesn't necessarily mean they'll move substantially though.)

Why should you care what I have to say? Did you know, last year I was considered to have one of the Top 2 or 3 brackets (depending on the scoring rubric) amongst 53 national experts including Joe Lunardi, Gary Parrish and the like).

Movement:

Last update was February 16th. Arrows indicate movement by seed. Two arrows equals a change of two seeds, etc..

Belmont is the lone new conference leader. Pitt has the #1 RPI now (and moves up to the #1 seed here), but trails UCONN by a half game in the BE. The biggest gain over the last 2 days is probably by Texas A&M, a team not even listed. They are at least back in the bubble conversation.  Purdue moves up to the top rated 5 seed, but doesn't jump to a 4 despite being MSU. Texas falls yet again, to the benefit of Davidson & Utah. Kentucky needs to beat Tennessee coming up.

I'm already pencilling in an upset...

LSU, as a 6 seed to lose first round.

I also think VCU could beat any of those 4 seeds.

I think your last in and

I think your last in and last out might be mixed just a bit. Miami has a worse chance than Kansas State and Penn State. KSU knocked off both Texas and Missourri and Penn State held number 16 Illinios to 33 points. They are more of a chance to make the tournament.

Agreed

These rankings were done before last night's results. No doubt next update (tomorrow morning), that Miami will get the axe and Penn State will get more love.

Why so much love for the

Why so much love for the Mountain West vs the Atlantic 10. If you compare the top 4 from both the A-10 is very comparable if not better yet only has 2 in with one on the bubble.

Good post. I think in the end it will even out and both league's will get 3. I have a feeling neither of Xavier/Dayton will win the league tourney. UNLV got the axe in the latest update today so it's 3-2 now, with Temple up to the 3rd team out.
