The weekly Bracketology field is based on how the tourney looks "as of this moment." My weekly Bracketology updates are usually released later on Mondays. In late February into March, I release Bracketology updates daily as the season approaches crunch time.
Why should you care what I have to say? Did you know in 2007 & 2008, I was considered to have one of the Top 2 or 3 brackets amongst 53 national experts including Joe Lunardi, Gary Parrish and the like. (Admittedly my 2009 final bracket was rather weak.. not sure what happened. Can't win 'em all.)
Notes:
Arrows indicate movement by seed. Green indicates new to the field this week. Conference champions are not my end of season predictions, but the current RPI leader at the time of the posting (this switches to conference record once all leagues have started.)

League Leaders/Winners (31)
- Leaders throughout the season are merely the first place team in the standings as of the update, and not projected winners. Up until conference play begins, 1st place is given to the highest RPI team. New teams this week in green.

Vandy? I am a bit of a UK hater, but come on. They are going to breeze to the SEC title.

Actually, I just read how you determine the conference champ at the moment. So nevermind on that comment above, sorry.
no worries. common mistake.

Do you really think Niagara is winning the MAAC? Thats nonsense...Siena slipped up like usual in the first couple weeks but they will be dominant come Feb into March...Horrible pick
read the above comments and how the conference champions are decided at this point..

If the SEZ gets 5 in to the ACC's 6, I smell a rat. There is NO WAY the SEZ is that close to the ACC. No way!! Look at the head to head so far!!
at this point, who do you think also belongs in? south carolina arguably? alabama? mississippi st?

I like your due diligence and effort at following this outstanding sport.
However, after soon to be 80 years of playing, coaching, and mostly being an endearing fan. I have come to sometimes find that winning and losing sometimes fails to point out qualities in either team.
The most recent example being the UNC vs. Kentucky game. Although the team I have always embraced, I still enjoy them all. Both are super programs, and extremely talented teams, and deserving of all the accolade's they are given. Which does not say as much as it seems, because I feel that about every team. Knowing first hand how much extra burden all of these young men and women take on in a very arduous time in their lives. All to bring us the enjoyment of this valued game.
Sometimes both teams will exhibit a weaknesses, rather than a strength to draw upon. In this case Ky's inability to hang on with a clear home advantage, and UNC's inability to stop the run-out, only to be later inverted. The one good thing is the fans for both, get to believe there is a plus to be had. The abilities vs inabilities here might also reflect that the reason one could, has more to do with the reason that the other couldn't. Although the coaches might not say so publicly, I'm sure that is what they are pointing out to their teams today. The one that adjusts the best, will be the ultimate winner in the end. No offence, just a learned evaluation, for I love them all.

Sorry Shawn, I accidently clicked over the 1 star, please delete it if you can.

St. Marys winning the WCC?? I understand I'm a little biased being a Gonzaga Grad, but come on! Admittedly the Zags are very young this year, but after winning Maui, and beating an up and coming WSU team how can you say St. Marys will take the WCC when their best game could arguably be a 2 point loss to Vandy (who went 1-2 in Maui)? I could maybe understand Portland, even given their recent struggles

"Conference champions are not my end of season predictions, but the current RPI leader at the time of the posting (this switches to conference record once all leagues have started.)"
Why don't you trying reading the article before you start complaining next time. From one Gonzaga fan to another.

Ahhhh...thanks for pointing that out. I retract my complaints and apologize for my whining
Let's hear where you differ..
