CHN's Coaching Week

Agnus Berenato Tricia Floyd Dan Hipsher Greg Kraley Tanya Haave Art Prevost Bobbi Morse

February 26th, 2003

Question #5: If you could break down basketball into three simple maxims, what would they be?

Agnus Berenato (Georgia Tech):  Catch, Square, Score

Tanya Haave (Colorado):  Very simply I think basketball is all about passing, catching and shooting!

Daniel Hipsher (Akron):  1)Play hard/play unselfish. 2) Right shot by the right guy. 3) Defensively, contest every shot and rebound it.

Greg Kraley (Akron):  Limit turnovers, play defense, and rebound.

Steve Mergelsberg (Rutgers-Newark):  Tough question! Talent, Intelligence and Desire.

Arthur Prevost (Akron):  You should know by now that 3 isn't enough.

Continue to the next question:

Question One:  The biggest force in creating your coaching philosophy has been..

Question Two:  Do you feel offenses should be catered to players?
Question Three:  Who do you feel is the most original  X's and O's coach out there?  What's the wackiest play you've ever seen work?

Question Four: Do you change your approach for road games?

Question Five: Breaking down basketball into three simple maxims..
Question Six: What's your most trusted teaching drill and why?

We'd like the following coaches for their help in CHN's Coaching Week.  Agnus Berenato (Georgia Tech), Tricia Floyd (SIU), Tanya Haave (Colorado), Daniel Hipsher (Akron), Greg Kraley (Akron), Bobbi Morse (SLU), Arthur Prevost (Akron). Special thanks goes out to Steve Mergelsberg (Rutgers-Newark)
