College Basketball Lines & Predictions
|
Betting odds are a great guide to college basketball entertainment. I'll discuss my daily predictions after the lines.. these are posted solely for fun, as I do not bet on games myself, nor do I suggest anybody else does either (it's not easy). If you agree or disagree with my picks, have thoughts on the day's lines, or have upsets or picks to announce, post them below.

easy to say now, but...
Wish I saw this before hand. As your resident Wake Forest supporter I felt great going into this game. I knew they didn't have the point guard to stop Ish Smith, and I thought we would dominate down low with Ed Davis out. I didn't expect to win the way we did, which was our guards completely outplaying Carolina, but they were not able to guard us, and on offense they were not able to get by us to get open shots. UNC has struggled from 3pt% for the year, and Wake is one of the top 3ptfg% defensive teams in the nation- they just had no where to go.
Now Duke over NC State REALLY surprised me- loosk like the ACC is going to beat up on itself quite a bit this year. I do not see us getting a #1 in the tourney this year unless someone goes on a wicked streak right now. GT has looked the best (in conference play) and it will be interesting to see how the year plays out.

PREDICTIONS
-- 29-25 after splitting games yesterday. Can't remember the last time I didn't split.. due for a good winning streak (I hope).
-- I like NORTH CAROLINA (-6) against Wake Forest. Road games are road games in the ACC, and UNC is still a tough place to play even if the Heels have been struggling (losers of 3 of 4). Expect a better game out of UNC's bigs and an easy win tonight.
-- I also like KANSAS (-14) against Baylor. The Jayhawks, despite entering with one loss and ranked 3rd in the country, almost seem to be underrated at this point. Coming off a romp over Texas Tech, and with rival Texas losing, I expect Kansas to come out and make a big statement that they're still the kings of the Big 12.
-- Lastly, I like TEXAS TECH (-3) vs Iowa St. Tech is reeling, having lost 3 straight and 5 out of 8. But look at those losses: at Wichita St, at New Mexico, at Oklahoma St, home vs Missouri, and at Kansas. Every one of those teams are NCAA-quality teams or at least bubble teams. Iowa St at home simply isn't as big of a challenge as those games.
Who do you like tonight and why??
