College Basketball Lines & Predictions: Friday

Betting odds are a great guide to college basketball entertainment. Unlike fans, who often ride the wave of media predictions, betting lines tend to be a bit more focused and can give you an objective picture of how teams matchup (though lines too can get caught up in the wave of human emotion).
I'll discuss my daily predictions after the lines.. these are posted solely for fun, as I do not bet on games myself, nor do I suggest anybody else does either (it's not easy). If you agree or disagree with my picks, have thoughts on the day's lines, or have upsets or picks to announce, post them below.

a lot of respect for the 'Cuse there. Although I think the Orange can pull this off, I'm very surprised by the line. usually a lot of favoritism towards the Tarheels and to start the season they are ranked quite a bit higher.

People treat Cuse at the Garden like its a home game. I'm torn on that game. Havent been impressed by UNC much.. really don't know who I'd pick

I have agree with your comment- but UNC on neutral court is normally at least a neutral or home game for UNC. I'd take the 'Cuse if it were in the the carrier dome, but MSG will have plenty of Tarheel fans in it. I think honestly the line is about right as I think the Tarheels are maybe more like about 15 in the nation or so.

...but even if I did I would not go close to the SU/UNC game.

Cmon Sean....2 days of mentions of the Flyers opponents and none of the team that played them.
Flyers beat GT and they will beat Nova by 6.

No disrespect intended. I think I still like Nova against them today, as its a better matchup for Nova size and style-wise then their last game.. but I think it will be very close game and wouldnt take Nova with the 6 point spread.

PREDICTIONS
I'm 2-2 on the year here, both losses involving Villanova.
Yesterday, I went with Villanova big over George Mason.. and was completely wrong. I was less sold on GMU during the game, and more shocked and dismayed at how poorly Nova played. I like GEORGIA TECH as 5 point favorites over the Patriots. Georgia Tech is coming off a rather disappointing loss, and will be ready to get a victory this afternoon.
I also like TENNESSEE despite the big spread. Vols won't win by 70+ like they did against UNCA, but ECU is a flat out poor team that will get run over.
What do you think about today's lines? Anything stand out?
