Betting odds are a great guide to college basketball entertainment. Unlike fans, who often ride the wave of media predictions, betting lines tend to be a bit more focused and can give you an objective picture of how teams matchup (though lines too can get caught up in the wave of human emotion).

I'll discuss my daily predictions after the lines.. these are posted solely for fun, as I do not bet on games myself, nor do I suggest anybody else does either (it's not easy). If you agree or disagree with my picks, have thoughts on the day's lines, or have upsets or picks to announce, post them below.

PREDICTIONS

I head into today 5-3 on the year after taking yesterday off.

Later tonight, I like MONTANA as 14 point underdogs at Oregon. Some places have this listed as a 14.5 spread this morning. Oregon is coming off a loss to Portland, although Portland is a step above Montana talent-wise. Montana is an experienced squad who can score the ball if Oregon tries to push the tempo.

I like DEPAUL as a pickem against St. Joseph's. St. Joe's is 3-1 with a win over Boston College, but the Eagles without Rakim Sanders are not a great team. The Hawks got crushed in the 2nd half against Purdue and may just be ready to leave Puerto Rico, while DePaul fought hard against Tennessee.

Who do you like today? Let's hear it:

Here are my picks...

I guess I could join in this fun little game:

Texas giving 15.5 points to Iowa (they best win these games by 20+ if they expect to be a Top 3 team in the nation)

Louisville giving 18.5 to App. St. (this is not football)

Cincinnati taking 4.5 to Vandy (tough game that's why I like the points I am getting, but would not be surprised if I am wrong on this one)

(Starting the day off at 0 and 0)

Not a bad start...

I believe that I went 3 for 3 on my first night out (something I am totally shocked about). Can not wait for today's games, will make sure to get my picks in during the day.

Texas

like Texas as well, Iowa is simply awful. I think they'd be mid-level in the SWAC

one for tonight

Santa Barbara should handle USF. Maybe short a couple of guys, but Gauchos have a deep squad this year.

Concern on the DePaul opinion is whether they have anything left in tank after battling very hard vs. Vols. Hawks off a very bad half of ball, good bounce back spot?

Western Mich a tad overrated off VCU win? Thought Loyola Chi should be favored by maybe 3.
