Betting odds are a great guide to college basketball entertainment. Unlike fans, who often ride the wave of media predictions, betting lines tend to be a bit more focused and can give you an objective picture of how teams matchup (though lines too can get caught up in the wave of human emotion).

I'll discuss my daily predictions after the lines.. these are posted solely for fun, as I do not bet on games myself, nor do I suggest anybody else does either (it's not easy). If you agree or disagree with my picks, have thoughts on the day's lines, or have upsets or picks to announce, post them below.

PREDICTIONS

After a nice 2-0 yesterday, I'm 4-2 on the season and hope to build a little momentum today.

No marquee matchups on tap today, although a handful of Top 25 programs are in action. I like OKLAHOMA as 4 point favorites at VCU. This is a rare pure road game for Oklahoma, and they are coming off a rather lackluster performance against ULM. But I think VCU is a tad overrated, and the loss of Eric Maynor in the off-season cannot be understated.

I also like NORTHEASTERN to hold off Utah State at home. Utah St is a quality team that played Utah close on the road and beat Weber St away, but traveling across the country to Boston will be a bit much, especially with an early afternoon start.

Those are my two picks for the day. Post your thoughts on today's games below:

Re: PREDICTIONS

I'll go against you and take Utah St, I think they have too much even making the long trip... Northeastern traditionally plays dead at home.

I do like your OU pick, mainly b/c VCU's coach is now in Ttown, Roll Tide! lol...

I also like St Peter's & Manhattan in early afternoon action. And there is no way Auburn will lost to IUPUI...

My late night plays are Mizzou State, Penn, & La Tech...

thanks for the thoughts. mo

thanks for the thoughts. mo st is intriguing, you'd think after beating auburn by 11 at home they could beat the citadel by 6.5 i guess.

Siena +4.5 ... Siena likely

Siena +4.5 ... Siena likely takes this outright.

Nice job on Northeastern.

A little too close for

A little too close for comfort with the N'Eastern game, but I'll take it. Siena is definitely enticing, but you never know with Temple, they play that awkward slow tempo that teams struggle with. Still, if I had to pick either way, I'd go with the Saints

What about VCU being

What about VCU being overrated? VCU > OU, Shocka Smart > Jeff Capel
