College Basketball Odds & Predictions: Wednesday
|
Betting odds are a great guide to college basketball entertainment. I'll discuss my daily predictions after the lines.. these are posted solely for fun, as I do not bet on games myself, nor do I suggest anybody else does either (it's not easy). If you agree or disagree with my picks, have thoughts on the day's lines, or have upsets or picks to announce, post them below.
February 10th: Odds & Predictions

Shawn, I dont think you're
Shawn, I dont think you're taking into account just how much UNC has tanked and how poorly their D is right now. Duke wins big

PREDICTIONS
-- 41-33 on the season after going 2-1 last night. The loss was disappointing and Michigan St was never even close. Still hoping to return to the elusive +10 mark on the season..
-- Beginning with NORTH CAROLINA (+6) against Duke. Duke may very well win the game, but 6 seems like a lot. Duke has only won by 6+ in 1 of 6 road games this season. They've also won by 6+ in the Smith Center in just 1 of their last 7 games there. You might say that UNC is simply so awful right now that everything else is out the window.. but the Heels still have a fair amount of talent, even if it doesnt seem that way.
-- I'll continue with another home team, SYRACUSE (-10) against Connecticut. Here's the the thing about UConn, they're simply not a very good team. 0-7 in games away from home, including a 13 point loss at Louisville and a 15 pointer at Providence. You figure this is a big game for the Huskies mentally, and they will try their hardest to turn things around, but the talent and depth simply isn't there right now.
-- On the road this time, GEORGIA TECH (+1) is my pick. Miami is 10-1 at home and Tech has been mediocre on the road. However, most of those Miami wins were meaningless games early against cupcakes. Their best quality home win was by a point over Wake Forest, and that was when Miami was highly confident coming off a big winning streak. As their season fades away, I expect Miami's mojo to go with it.
-- Finally, one last ACC game. CLEMSON (-5) should roll over Florida St. Despite Clemson's 1-4 slide, they're still an extremely solid team at home. They've beaten Maryland, UNC, and BC by 9+ in league play and FSU is similar to those teams.
Who do you like?
