CollegeHoops.net All-Second Round Team & MOP
The
NCAA tournament earned its Madness nickname during the second round this year,
with lots of games going down to the wire. Not surprisingly these tight games
brought out the best in some players, and the crème de la crème make CHN’s
All-Second Round Team.

Cole Aldrich, Kansas, C
13 points, 20 rebounds, 10 blocks
A no-brainer choosing the top performer in round two - Coleplay gets the nod. Triple-doubles are so very rare in college ball - in fact Aldrich’s was only the sixth in the history of the tournament and the first involving blocks since Shaq’s in 1992. And to top it off it all occurred in his hometown of Minneapolis.

Guard: Ty Lawson, North Carolina
23 points, six assists, two steals, zero turnovers
Ty Lawson suiting up for UNC was a big enough boost for the team - then he goes out and pulls off the stellar stat line listed above.
Guard: A.J. Price, Connecticut
27 points, eight assists, five boards
After a slow start to the season Price is rounding into form at just the right time for the Huskies.
Forward: Terrence Williams, Louisville
24 points, 15 boards, four assists
The Cardinals’ Mr. Do-It-All did it all again in a dogfight versus Siena.
Forward: Blake Griffin, Oklahoma

When the bruising Griffin wasn’t sprawled out on the floor or bleeding, he was busy posting his sixth-straight double-double.
