Hey CHNers.. There's two new content additions getting started on CHN.
Fan Blogs are a place for readers to show off their knowledge of the game. Its a standard blog interface.. with your posts appearing on CHN, and linked from the frontpage and other areas, like the message board (look to the left). Basically they look like regular CHN articles, and you get your own blog archive, a profile with a bio and picture, people can comment on your posts, and you can also include links to other sites so you can exchange links.

Each FanBlogger has his own fanblog archive page as well. Here is Wander's:

Each blog post is categorized using a term of your choice. This is "free tagging" which means you can put it any category you like and an archive will be created of those terms. So Wander's is categorized as Duke and UNC, so archives are created of all fanblogs about Duke, UNC, etc.
I also plan on featuring the best reader blog post on the frontpage each week as well.
To get started, you need to register (separate from message board registration) at:

Once you've registered and/or logged in, be sure to fill in the appropriate account information which will appear on your profile. Be sure to check all the tabs for adding your blog title, contact information, etc.
Once logged in, you'l see in the upper left a box with your username as the title, under which are links for "my account" and "my fanblog" and "create content."
You can always edit your profile by clicking on "my account." You can also edit such information by clicking your name on blog posts.
To create a FanBlog post, go to "my fanblog" and then "Post New Fanblog Entry." I suggest
bookmarking your my fanblog archive page, so that you have an easy way to get to the new post link and you can keep track of your posts.
To post a FanBlog page, you need to a) Add a Title in the "Title" field, b) type in a category/tage for the post in the "categories" field, and c) add the text of the post in the "Body" field. Advanced users can dabble with html in the posts if desired (including text links, etc.)

There's also a
Links of the Day section on CHN now. CHN Staff members and all CHN readers can add links to good stories, websites, videos, contests, etc in this section.

Besides showing up on the Links page there, the recent links will also appear on all CHN pages shortly.
This will be a great resource for finding the best college hoops information. Users can also post comments and discuss the links.
To add a Link of the Day.. you'll need to register (separate from message board registration, but the same as the FanBlogger, Posting registration above) at:

Once logged in, you'l see in the upper left a box with your username as the title, under which there is a link for "create content". Click on that, and then "Favorite Links." Then you need to type in the URL of the page, add a description of the link, and then finally a title of what the link is about. All in all, a very simple process.
