Primetime Shootout at Villanova Review: Tyreke Evans and Samardo Samuels

February 8th, 2008

This past weekend I spent a couple of days at Villanova University covering two high school showcases promoted by Primetime Shootout and Scholastic Play by Play. On Friday night the Primetime Shootout featured three nationally ranked teams in St. Benedict’s (NJ) # 3, Chester (PA) # 6 and American Christian (PA) # 3 in the prep poll. This event also included Jeannette (PA) who has the # 1 football recruit in the country Terrelle Pryor.

Freshman 10 Conferece Play Primer: Big East & Big Ten

January 9th, 2008

This means no more North Floridas or Sacramento States or Prairie View A & Ms on the schedule. No, this means we will be treated to a bevy of decent matchups on a nightly basis, providing a meaningful way to discern between squads, rather than wild guessing, or even

December 21st, 2007

Last night was one of the best night's of the college basketball season.. hopefully setting up what should be an even more exciting weekend. Here are a bunch of scatter-brained thoughts on the biggest game of all, Duke/Pittsburgh:

December 19th, 2007

Finally, back to a full week of solid college basketball. After most schools around the country had final exams last week, most hoops fans were impatiently waiting for quality match-ups to begin again. This week features several important games for teams looking to make a statement on their non-conference resumes, while two top-ten teams highlight the schedule with a big-time battle on a neutral court Thursday.

Freshman 10: Rookie Review

December 18th, 2007
Ah, Finals Time. The time of year where college hoops fans/writers really stretch their love of the game to find something, anything, to get excited about. Do you stand by your game and endure such classics as Duke-Michigan, UNC-Rutgers and Kansas-Ohio? Or do you cleanse the system of college hoops for awhile, replenishing the fluids for the last of the non-conference schedule and then gorge yourself on the opening week of league play once those pesky bowl games subside?
