College Hoops Sunday Recap: Atlantic 10 Earns Two Titles

Kevin Dillard led the way for Dayton

Sunday set up to be a big day for the Atlantic 10 with Dayton (Old Spice Classic) and Saint Louis (76 Classic) playing in the title game of their respective in-season tournaments. And even better for the conference is that both picked up wins, displaying the depth of a league thought by many to be Xavier, Temple and 12 other teams before the season began.

With the NBA Draft deadline (May 8th) still a month away, here's a look at each of the teams in the East Region and what they'll likely have in 2011-12.

First Four Tuesday Recap: Bulldogs Come Back to Beat UALR

Matt Dickey and J.P. Primm scored 22 points apiece for UNC AshevilleTuesday marked the beginning of the NCAA Tournament, although it's tough for most people to consider anything earlier than Thursday being the starting point. The first game of the "First Four" matched Big South champion UNC Asheville and Sun Belt winner Arkansas-Little Rock and the game did not disappoint, requiring an extra five minutes to determine the winner. A Matt Dickey three pointer from the left corner with 11 seconds remaining pushed the game into overtime, where the Bulldogs took the lead for good on a pair of J.P. Primm free throws with 1:11 remaining.

Jon Teitel's "Forgotten Legends" Series: UAB's Donell Taylor

Donell Taylor was one of the key cogs in UAB's 2004 Sweet 16 runRecently CHN writer Jon Teitel spent some time with former UAB player Donell Taylor, who went on to play professional basketball after helping lead the Blazers to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances in 2004 and 2005. His identical twin brother Ronell was also on the team, and they combined for one of the best fast break baskets in recent tournament history in their second round win over Kentucky in 2004. Donell currently plays professionally in Italy.
