Washington State Legend Isaac Fontaine

In the latest installment of his great player interview series, CHN writer Jon Teitel spent some time with the all-time leading scorer in Washington State history in Isaac Fontaine. Fontaine, who earned All-Conference honors in each of his four seasons on the Palouse, also leads the program in three-point percentage (45.7%) and was a finalist for the John R. Wooden Award as a senior in 1997.

Kentucky's DeMarcus CousinsMany had a feeling that things would get a bit heated between in-state rivals Louisville and Kentucky on Saturday afternoon. Kentucky fans at Rupp Arena were more than ready to see the Wildcats reclaim bragging rights while the veteran Cardinals weren't showing up to simply lie down. The talking began in the tunnel before the game and threatened to mar the game before a shot was even attempted.

Big Ten Expansion? Dominoes Could Fall Once More

It may not feel like it to the respective conferences, but it has been over six years since the ACC raided the Big East, taking with them Miami, Virginia Tech and Boston College to reach the mandatory 12 team minimum for a conference football championship game. The Big East, caught flat-footed by the move, promptly raided Conference USA, which in turn raided the Western Athletic Conference, which then invaded the Sun Belt Conference – leading to one of the most dramatic re-alignments in college sports since the expansion of the “major” conferences themselves in the early 90’s.

College Hoops Thursday Recap: Big 12 Goes 3-0

The Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series is set up differently than than the recently completed ACC/Big Ten Challenge, with games being spread out over a couple of weeks. The Pac-10 has taken more than its fair share of shots to this point in the season and tonight's 0-for-3 outcome certainly didn't help their cause. #10 Washington losing at Texas Tech in overtime was a tough blow to the league but that was a game in which the Red Raiders (more on them later) were right in the thick of things throughout and nearly won it in regulation on a Mike Singletary three.
