College Hoops Thursday Recap: Singler Leads Duke over Georgia Tech

February 5th, 2010
Duke forward Kyle Singler

You can normally tell the magnitude of a game at Duke by how fired up head coach Mike Krzyzewski is, especially when it comes to pumping up the Cameron Crazies. Coming off of a sound defeat at the hands of Georgetown, the Blue Devils needed to respond against a team that had knocked them off earlier in the season and they did just that. In the 83-65 win Kyle Singler hit eight three pointers in scoring 30 points while also grabbing five rebounds, and as a team Duke shot 66.7% (12-18) from behind the arc.

That question is more than valid and if they play the way in which they did in the second half of their 79-58 win over Wake Forest an ACC title could become a reality for Paul Hewitt's squad. The Yellow Jackets shot 53.7% from the field and finished with five players reaching double figures (D'Andre Bell led the way with 16 points) in the win, which also featured Tech holding Wake Forest to 32.8% shooting.

College Hoops Thursday Recap: UCLA in Trouble?

November 27th, 2009
Ben Howland - UCLA

Had you told someone that UCLA lost to Portland the result likely wouldn't have registered much shock. The Pilots have already beaten Oregon and Eric Reveno's team is expected to be a challenger to Gonzaga in the WCC. But 74-47? Portland got off to a good start and their offensive efficiency combined with the Bruins' offensive ineptitude resulted in a game that got out of hand; the margin reached thirty points in the second half. Guards T.J. Campbell and Jared Stohl each scored fifteen points to lead the Pilots, who shot 11-for-20 from behind the arc and 54.2% from the field.

Pac-10 Basketball: Top 25 Players

November 9th, 2009
Jerome Randle
Ranking players is more art then science. How do you compare the potential of freshmen with seniors who have already peaked? How much does physical talent come into play versus intangibles and experience? How big a role do numbers play? All of these questions make lists like this fun and debatable.. if you disagree with CHN's rankings, post what you think below.
