Doc Hayes led SMU to eight conference titles and a Final FourIn the latest installment in his "Coaching Greats" interview series CHN writer Jon Teitel spent some time talking about the career of late SMU head coach E.O. "Doc" Hayes with Gerry York, head of the SMU Heritage Hall Museum. In twenty seasons at SMU Coach Hayes won 299 games and led the Mustangs to eight conference titles and six NCAA Tournament appearances.

Conference USA: All-Conference Teams

UTEP G Randy CulpepperIRVING, Texas - Players from five different schools are represented on the 2010 All-Conference USA men's basketball first-team, featuring three repeat all-conference selections and two newcomers. Seniors Aubrey Coleman of Houston and Ben Uzoh of Tulsa are joined by juniors Elijah Millsap of UAB and Randy Culpepper of UTEP, along with sophomore Elliot Williams of Memphis. All five players are guards. Voting on the awards was done by the C-USA head coaches and media members in each conference city.

IRVING, Texas – Regular season champion Memphis will be the No. 1 seed at the 2009 Conference USA Men's Basketball Championship, March 11-14 at FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn. The Tigers, ranked No. 3 in the country, enter the conference tournament as the No.1 seed for the fourth year in a row, owning a record of 28-3 and the nation’s longest winning streak at 22 games.
